Just Another Day at the Farm

When I was younger I always wanted to live on a farm. As is the case with most young girls I loved horses, but did not have one, nor did I live on a farm. The closest I ever got was my Great Uncle who owned a farm in Vermont that we would visit when I was a child. He had pigs and cows, and a few work horses. Then as a teen I was friends with some neighbors that were lucky enough to have horses and I was able to ride periodically. Time passes, life changes and you move on.

So here I am many years later… creating my own farm on which I will raise Alpacas, a gentle livestock that is not slaughtered for meat but sheared for the luxurious soft fiber. A new adventure to explore. I plan to learn all I can about them and what great treasures can be made from the fiber. I would love to learn how to spin my own yarns, but for now… I’ll have it mill spun for my farm store. It’s a journey Paul and I started in 2007 and I invite you to join us in our travels and share the good times and bad through this blog.
